I love working with students and professionals to help them understand their purpose and career goals. Our sense of purpose and occupational choice shifts as we gain more knowledge and experience throughout life. Any time we anticipate or need to make a change, it is critical to first search within one’s self to understand your true wants and needs. That’s where I come in. The answers lie within you and I just help you hear them, build confidence, and empower you with strategies to follow your own lead.

I grew up in Cleveland, OH and have since called Lexington, KY home. I have two children in college and two dogs at home. My hobbies include traveling, interior design, art, and music. My undergraduate degree is in psychology and I minored in human resource management. My master’s degree is in counseling. I knew I wanted to be a counselor, but it wasn’t until I was in a career counseling course in graduate school that it clicked. Career counseling made sense and I’ve been at it ever since. My whole career of 25 years has been spent in career development. My credentials include the following:

- National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board of Certified Counselors
- Certified Career Counselor (CCC) through the National Career Development Association
- Certified Mindfulness Instructor through the Mindfulness Institute for Emerging Adults
I utilize several career development theories in my work with clients. Cognitive Information Processing Theory provides an excellent framework for making career decisions. It also helps in addressing the negative self-talk that often obstructs our progress. Career Construction Theory is a narrative approach which focuses on self-authorship and life design as approaches to find clarity. I integrate both of these theories with foundational work by John Holland. His RIASEC framework relies on a trait-factor connection to the world of work based upon our interests.
I believe I can make a difference as you navigate these big life decisions — whether it be choosing a course of study or considering a career change.
